From 2014-2022, Mr. Leidholdt served as Producing Artistic Director for Millbrook Playhouse in Pennsylvania, where he produced over 100 plays and musicals, including regional premieres of Fun Home the Musical, My Vaudeville Man, and Chick Flick The Musical.
His New York professional directing career began at American Family Theatre, which eventually led him to become their Artistic Director from 2007-2014; it was during this period that he co-created ReVision Theatre in Asbury Park, NJ, producing four seasons of new and classic music theatre presented with a fresh perspective. As Co-Artistic Director at ReVision Theatre, he produced several landmark new musicals, including; Kingdom, a new hip-hop musical based on the Latin Kings (Winner Best Best Musical New Jersey Star-Ledger), The Breakup Notebook, a Lesbian Musical starring Tony nominee Beth Malone, and the world premiere of The Bikinis starring Annie Golden and Cheryl Freeman.
In New York, he was involved in the direction and development of several new musicals and plays. He was a founding producer for The New York Musical Theatre Festival and helped to bring to fruition such shows as; [Title of Show], Altar Boyz, Rooms, and Next to Normal.
In addition to his work as an Artistic Director, Mr. Leidholdt has been a teacher working with young actors from all backgrounds teaching in such established institutions as the Professional Performing Arts School and The Actors Institute in New York City, Stagedoor Manor, Interprovincial Musical Theatre in Canada, Cranbrook Theatre School and Ohio Northern University, Lycoming College, and Lock Haven University.
He has been a proud Stage Directors and Choreographers Society member since 2001 and an alumnus of The Lincoln Center Directors Lab in 2000 and 2001. Studied Directing at Playwrights Horizons Professional Program and The Actors Institute and holds a BFA from the University of Detroit.
